Rockstar Games has confirmed that players who purchase the standard edition of GTA 6 won’t be locked out of Ultimate Edition content forever.

With pre-orders now live in some regions, listings on the PlayStation Store reveal an Ultimate Edition Upgrade available as separate DLC.

The news will come as a relief to fans who may not want to spend extra money upfront but still want access to the additional content at a later date.

While GTA 6 launches at $80 for the standard edition, the Ultimate Edition includes a range of exclusive bonuses, including access to five unique in-game stores stocked with items unavailable in the base version of the game.

The amount of content locked behind the Ultimate Edition has already sparked debate among fans, but Rockstar’s upgrade option ensures players aren’t forced to make the decision before launch.

GTA 6 is set to release on November 19, 2026, with pre-orders now rolling out across PlayStation and Xbox platforms.

For those still deciding which edition to buy, it looks like there’s no rush — upgrading later will remain an option.
