  • GTA 6 Has Tech Experts Calling It Visually Remarkable

Rockstar’s latest GTA 6 showcase has impressed players, but the game’s technical performance may be even more remarkable.

Digital Foundry analyzed footage captured on a standard PS5 and praised what Rockstar has achieved. The team described GTA VI as one of the most impressive examples of real-time rendering ever seen.

    A Huge Technical Achievement

GTA VI is currently targeting 30FPS on PS5, but Digital Foundry says the game appears to maintain that target extremely well. The analysis noted only very occasional single-frame drops during the showcased footage.

Character models were another major highlight. Digital Foundry praised the hair simulation, skin shading, sweat, makeup, and overall character detail.

The game’s lighting and ray-tracing technology also received strong praise. Rockstar appears to be pushing the PS5 with highly detailed environments and realistic lighting effects.

However, the biggest achievement may be GTA 6’s world simulation. Digital Foundry highlighted its sophisticated NPC system, with hundreds of characters helping make Vice City feel alive.

GTA 6 may therefore be making an interesting trade-off on PS5. Players might not get 60FPS, but Rockstar appears determined to deliver an incredibly detailed and dynamic open world.

GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
