Treyarch has officially confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 and 2 are coming to PS5 next month.
The announcement was made quietly on social media, with Treyarch revealing that the ports are being developed by Iron Galaxy, the studio known for working on titles such as Diablo 3, Overwatch, and Fallout 76.
While no exact release date has been announced, both games are scheduled to launch in July 2026.
Don’t expect full remasters, however. Based on Treyarch’s announcement, these appear to be straightforward PS5 ports designed to bring the classic shooters to modern PlayStation hardware rather than rebuilt versions with major graphical upgrades.
The move makes sense considering both titles are already playable on Xbox through backwards compatibility, while PlayStation players have been waiting for native versions.
Widely regarded as two of the greatest Call of Duty games ever made, Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2 remain fan favourites thanks to their memorable stories, competitive multiplayer, and iconic Zombies maps.
For longtime fans, July will offer the perfect opportunity to revisit two FPS classics while waiting for the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 later this year.
