  • Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced Expands Blackbeard’s Story with New Endgame Missions

One of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag most memorable characters are finally getting the spotlight they deserve.

Ubisoft has revealed new details about Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, confirming that fan-favourite pirate Blackbeard will play a much larger role in the remake thanks to an entirely new set of endgame missions.

In the original game, Blackbeard served as a mentor figure to Edward Kenway, stealing almost every scene he appeared in despite having relatively limited screen time.

His lack of involvement throughout the adventure became a common criticism among fans, who felt the legendary pirate deserved a bigger role in the story.

That appears to be changing with Resynced.

According to a new developer deep dive, Ubisoft is introducing a brand-new chapter titled A World Without Gold, a clear nod to Blackbeard’s iconic line: “In a world without gold, we might have been heroes.”

The new storyline will span eight missions and unlock during the final sequence of the game.

Ubisoft says players will experience an expanded version of Blackbeard’s story, offering more insight into one of Black Flag’s most beloved characters while adding fresh narrative content to the adventure.

For longtime fans, the chance to spend more time alongside Blackbeard may end up being one of the remake’s biggest selling points. Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced launches on PS5 later this year.
