Activision is changing things up with the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 PS5 beta, which will include a playable single-player campaign mission for the first time in the series.

Players will be able to try Entrenched, a campaign mission, alongside several multiplayer maps and modes. The beta will also eventually introduce the new Warzone Resurgence map, Zodiac.

Beta Dates

Players who pre-order the game can access the Early Access beta from August 21–25, 2026. This phase includes five multiplayer maps, nine modes and the Entrenched campaign mission.

The open beta begins on August 28 and runs until September 1, adding more multiplayer content as well as access to Zodiac.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches on PS5 on October 23, 2026. The campaign preview could give players an early indication of what Activision has planned for this year’s story.
