  • Wuthering Waves Might Be Expanding Beyond the PS5 Game with an Official Anime

Kuro Games is taking the world of Wuthering Waves beyond gaming. The Chinese studio behind the popular open-world RPG has announced the creation of a new animation division called Kuro Onroad.

Its first project will be an official anime adaptation titled Wuthering Waves: Elysium. A teaser trailer has already been released, offering an early look at the upcoming project.

While details remain limited, the anime is expected to expand the world and stories that players have already experienced.

According to Kuro Games, the project marks a new chapter for the studio as it expands “beyond the game.” The goal is to give fans another way to experience its characters, stories, and world through animation.

Kuro Games is not the first major Chinese developer to explore anime adaptations. HoYoverse has been working on a Genshin Impact anime, while Honkai: Star Rail is also receiving an animated adaptation.

However, Kuro Games appears to be taking a different approach by building its own internal animation studio. Establishing Kuro Onroad could give the company greater creative control over future animated projects while reducing its reliance on external production partners.

Considering the time required to produce a high-quality anime series, fans may have a long wait ahead.

Wuthering Waves already has manga adaptations in Japan and China, making an anime expansion a natural next step for the growing franchise.

With the game continuing to expand, Elysium could eventually become an important part of the wider Wuthering Waves universe.

For fans of the PS5 RPG, this could be an exciting opportunity to experience the world of Wuthering Waves from a completely different perspective.
