Sony’s June 2026 State of Play has officially wrapped up, bringing over an hour of announcements, trailers, release dates, and surprises for PlayStation fans.
After weeks of speculation, expectations were incredibly high heading into the showcase. While some of the biggest rumors failed to appear, Sony still delivered several major reveals that have plenty of players talking.
The standout announcement of the show was undoubtedly Until Dawn 2, the long-awaited sequel to Supermassive Games’ horror hit. Fans have been asking for a return to the franchise for years, making its reveal one of the biggest moments of the presentation.

Another major surprise came in the form of God of War: Laufey, a brand-new entry in Sony’s iconic action series. While details remain limited, the announcement instantly became one of the most discussed reveals across social media.
Sony also dedicated significant time to Marvel’s Wolverine, offering an extended look at gameplay ahead of the highly anticipated PS5 exclusive’s launch later this year. The showcase provided a deeper look at combat, exploration, and Insomniac’s darker take on the legendary Marvel character.
Beyond the headline reveals, several upcoming titles finally received release dates. Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Control Resonant, and Silent Hill: Townfall all secured launch windows, giving players a clearer picture of PlayStation’s upcoming lineup.
The showcase also introduced entirely new projects, including The Lost Wild, which immediately caught attention with its unique premise and atmosphere.
Of course, no State of Play is complete without debate. While many fans praised the number of game announcements and first-party reveals, others were hoping for appearances from some of PlayStation’s biggest studios.
As always, what qualifies as a great showcase largely depends on what games you’re personally excited for.
With Summer Game Fest and the Xbox Games Showcase still to come, the gaming industry’s biggest week is far from over. However, Sony has certainly given PlayStation players plenty to talk about in the meantime.
The June 2026 State of Play may not have delivered every rumored announcement, but it succeeded in showcasing a strong lineup of upcoming PlayStation games.
